SCCJGA Card Level Advancement Testing

• The SCCJGA has two ways to earn the next level SCCJGA player ID card (Bronze, Silver or Gold).  1) Register and attend an Advancement golf skills test and pass each of the 7 skill assessment categories (listed below) at the next level card or,  2) Shoot three (3) target scores at an SCCJGA tournament at your card level and advance to the next level. Scores carry over to the next year.

• Advancement Testing is a great way to test your skills against 7 golf disciplines to move/advance to the next card level.  Our junior golf program is set up to promote movement to the next card level as the junior golf abilities grow and improve. We offer Advancement testing by appointment only. (see note)

• These 7 golf skill tests have been designed to test all of the major golf disciplines and can be quite challenging if one does not practice. We encourage all juniors to advance through the levels and with practice in each of the area on the test it is more than possible.

  Print out the test form and start practicing each of the disciplines.  Practice is the key to success.

  Players must pass all 7 skills at or above the desired card level to earn that specific card. If the player passes all but one or two areas, they will be asked to come back when they are ready and only test in those areas to achieve the next card.  More that two areas and you much take the complete test again.

  Our goal is the make the junior successful but it does take practice and focus like all sports. Note:  The short game is typically this reason for most juniors do not pass on the first try.  Get out and work on that short game (putting, pitching and Chipping) it will make a difference during advancement testing and significantly drop your score on the golf course.

  1. Fairway Iron (5)
  2. Fairway Wood (3)
  3. Driver
  4. Pitching
  5. Chipping
  6. Putting
  7. Sand
